BEN HAINES
Ben Haines cut his teeth working at Mount Langi Ghiran winery before establishing his own operations on the outskirts of Melbourne.

He owns a couple of well-sited hectares of Pinot Noir in the Yarra Valley, and works with like-minded growers to source 'quality grapes from cool, expressive places that will largely speak for themselves, given the opportunity.'

Ben's extensive range is split into three tiers, from the superb value 'Everyday Series' through the Colour Block trio (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah), to the single-vineyard 'Design Series'. Across the board, the wines undergo minimum handling. The majority is raised in used puncheons; they receive a small dose of SO2 at bottling and are un-fined and unfiltered. The watchwords here are expressiveness, purity and accessibility, though the Design Series in particular deliveries real complexity and the capacity for aging.

We regard Ben as one of Australia's most exciting young winemakers and are thrilled to represent him in Ireland.

1
Everyday Series
The Everyday Series is Ben Haines’ entry level line-up wines with low extraction, minimal handling, un-fined/unfiltered, and just a kiss of SOâ‚‚ at bottling. These wines bring bright fruit, savoury nuance, crunchy acidity, and modest alcohol. Made to chill when appropriate and over-deliver on texture and drinkability, ideal for by-the-glass programs at a great price point.
2
Colour Block Series
His Colour Block Series is a focused trio (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah) that sits between the Everyday Series and Design Series with blocks treated like 'colours on a palette', each parcel is showcased for it's purity and texture.
3
Design Series
Focused on single vineyard sites throughout the Yarra Valley, these wines are the more 'serious' wines in the range. Precision, length and terrior-driven wines, these are built for aging. Ben collaborates with artists and designers on this range, hence the name, keeping the parcel-as-artwork ethos.
